The Roads Fund Administration joined the fight against Covid-19 pandemic by donating various medical and personal protective equipment to Kamuzu and Queens Central hospitals.
In his speech during the donation, the RFA Board Chairperson , Chancy Gondwe said that RFA noted the dire need for resources to fight the infection as well as protection of medical staff in the fight against the pandemic. The board thus decided to commit some of the funds earmarked for staff and board training in this year’s budget towards procurement of medical equipment to fight the disease.
In his speech the Director of Kamuzu Central Hospital, Dr. Jonathan Ngoma thanked the RFA for the donation which will go a long way to ease their work in treating covid-19 patients and protect staff from infection.
The donation amounting to K30million was used to procure the following medical and personal protective equipment which will be shared between KCH and Queens: 6 oxygen concetrators, 3 patient monitors, 10 infrared thermometers, 3 oxygen regulators, 1,000 water proof gowns and 45 face shields
Covid-19 is a new disease which started in China and the pandemic has infected people all over the world and has no cure.
